Dubai's other airlines

Sometimes it feels as though only Emirates operates from Dubai. Of course there are a wide range of major US, European, Far Eastern and Gulf international airlines such as British Airways, Air France, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific, Delta Airways, Qatar Airlines, Air China, etc etc. But there is also au unusual variety of airlines from Africa, the Middle East and the former Soviet Union. So here are a few of the more exotic carriers that regularly operate into Dubai.

Jazeera Airways

Kuwait based low cost airline with 8 A320s. Additional 32 Airbus A320s on order. Used to operate a small hub in Dubai. Now flying from Dubai to Kuwait for onward connections.

Ural Airlines

Based in Yekaterinburg, Russia. It operates scheduled and charter, domestic and international flights. Its main base is Koltsovo International Airport. Tupulev 154s are supported by A320s.

Iran Asseman Airlines

Flights to Shiraz-Larestan-Lamerd-Bandar Abbas-Bushehr-Mashhad-Chabahar-Zahedan-Abadan-Kermanshah. Predominantly domestic operator with Boeing 727s and Fokker F100s.

 

Air India Express

Air India Express is the low cost subsidiary of Air India. It operates Boeing 737NGs and flies to 10 international destinations– Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Muscat, Salalah, Singapore, Bahrain, Doha, and Columbo from 9 Indian cities – Kozhikode, Kochi, Thiruvananthpuram, Mumbai, Delhi, Amritsar, Chennai, Mangalore and Tiruchirapally.

Flights to Khartoum on A300s. Also has MS83s and Fokker 100s.

Kish Air

Kish Air is operating a fleet of six medium range McDonnell Douglas MD-83 and Tupolev Tu-154M and six short range Fokker 50 on its domestic and international routes in and to Iran.

Based in Salekhard, Russia Flies an all Russian fleet mainly on domestic routes.

Eritrean Airlines

Based in Asmara and flying internally and to Dubai, Jeddah, Milan, Rome and Frankfurt with one 767 and one 737.

They also fly from Dubai to Lahore.

Air Blue

Pakistan carrier Airblue operates Airbus 319, 320 and 321 planes on scheduled flights operating 30 daily services linking seven domestic destinations and international services to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Muscat and Manchester.

Air Baltic Corporation

Dubai to Riga, capital of Latvia. Mainly 737s and Fokker 50s. Affiliated to SAS the airline flies to some 49 destinations.

NAS Express / Nas Air

Nas Air (Arabic: طيران ناس) is a subsidiary of the Saudi National Air Services (NAS) that is based in Riyadh. It is the first low-cost carrier to fly in Saudi Arabia and started its domestic flights on February 25, 2007. Operates A320 and Embraer 190s.

Star Air Aviation

Star Air Aviation is a cargo airline based in Karachi, Pakistan. It operates to many cities in Pakistan including Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar.It flies Antonov freighters.
 

 

Silk Way Airlines

Silk Way Airlines is a cargo airline based in Baku, Azerbaijan. The airline was established in 2001 and operations started on October 6, 2001, with scheduled and charter cargo flights. Its main base is Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Baku. Also flying Antonov freighters as well as Ilyushin 76 jets.

 

 

Yemenia 

Yemenia - Yemen Airways (Arabic: الخطوط الجوية اليمنية‎) is the national airline of Yemen, based in Sana'a. It operates scheduled domestic services as well as international services to more than 30 destinations in Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. Its main base is Sana'a International Airport (SAH), with a hub at Aden International Airport (ADE). Flies Airbus A310s and A330s as well as Boeing 737s.

Mihin Lanka

  Mihin Lanka (Private) Limited is a low-cost airline based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is a fully owned and funded enterprise of the Sri Lankan government. Its main focus was providing low cost flights from Colombo to Dubai and a number of cities in India. It flies an A320 from Dubai to Colombo.

Mahan Air  

Mahan Air (Persian: هواپیمایی ماهان) is a private airline based in Tehran, Iran. It operates scheduled domestic services and international flights to the Far East, Middle East, and Europe. Its main base is Imam Khomeini International Airport, Tehran.

The airline flies from Dubai to Mashad and Tehran.

GMG Airline

Based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. A wholly-owned subsidiary of the GMG Group of Companies. It operates domestic, regional, and international services.  MD80s and B767s fly the international routes.

Based in Afghanistan with a 737-200 flying from Dubai to Kabul. Pamir Airways currently flies Kabul/Dubai/Kabul, Kabul/Herat/Kabul and Kabul/Faizabad/Kabul, as well as Herat/Maimana/Herat and Herat/Zaranj/Herat.
