Karon Beach

Phuket in July; it is warm and humid but there is far less rain than in Bangkok and far fewer tourists than in the high season. Prices are at some semblance of reality and everyone is a little more relaxed.

We stayed at the Marina Cottages resort at the south end of Karon Beach. This is a cottage resort not a high rise hotel. It is well managed; the rooms are not cheap but are extremely comfortable. Both Kata and Karon are a short walk away. Patong is a Baht 200 taxi ride away.

And the sunsets, as you can see, can be spectacular.
