Apollo 8. I was 11. A spaceship was in orbit around the moon – and the three crew, Borman, Lovell and Anders were reading from the book of Genesis.

It was truly the stuff of wide-eyed wonder. Of remarkable courage. Of hope. They boldly and truly went where no one had gone before.
