It is almost 25 years since the closure of Hong Kong’s Kai Tak airport.
From my first arrival there in 1985 until the airport closed in 1998 it became part of my life.
This video is interesting – albeit not entirely accurate – for instance it was not a short runway!
By 1998 we had moved to Singapore but we flew back to Hong Kong for closing day and then returned on the first flight out to Singapore the following morning. Memorable.
