Last week the threat was the runaway train hurtling around the final corner.
That train was diverted but not canceled. The club simply asked for more time.
But tomorrow is decision day for CMFC. I would like to think that there will be no more extensions. We all need to move on with some certainty. But never say never.
What was clear today is that even the investors do not know whether the club will continue in T3 – as they, like the rest of us, are waiting to hear whether K. Sand has paid off the club’s debts.
But there is another way to look at this – we can sing from the Titanic songbook:
“You’re here, there’s nothing I fear
And I know that my heart will go on
We’ll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart and
My heart will go on and on.”
Because the strong sense at training today, on a grey and soggy afternoon, is that the club will go on. Maybe in T3. Maybe, and possibly renamed, in the Semi-Pro League.
Realistically the Thai League needs CMFC and its supporters. T3 North will look woefully weak without us.
One good omen – it was coach Reuther Moreira’s birthday today. He loves his football – what better present than to take CMFC into T3?
31 July 2024 Tomorrow, and tomorrow and tomorrow
Let’s prolong the pain for another day….the Thai League is giving CMFC until the very end of the day to clear the debt from last season. It appears unlikely that there will be any news today.
